Soundproofing for bow thrusters and generators
EMHA Marine & Offshore is an experienced specialist in epoxy and polymer techniques and aligning machines and components. EMHA recently provided a platform supplier with a number of adjustments to the bow thrusters and generators. Acoustic enclosures were also needed for these installations, for which EMHA approached Alara-Lukagro.
Soundproofing for bow thrusters and generators
Alara-Lukagro designed acoustic enclosures for the supplier’s generators and bow thrusters. Despite the limited space on board a suitable solution was designed in accordance with the customer’s requirements.
Advantages of acoustic enclosures
The enclosures were designed as follows:
- Soundproof – noise was reduced by 22 dB.
- Easy access and maintenance – provided by easily removable inspection hatches and integrated drip tray.
- Machine cooling and ventilation – using ventilation louvres with ventilators and silencers for quiet ventilation.
- High quality material – steel plate with powder-coating and advanced engineering for a perfect fit.
Alara-Lukagro was responsible for the engineering, production, powder-coating and assembly of the acoustic enclosures to achieve optimal performance.
