Soundproofing and fire resistance
Each hall has a different function: from hotel to workplace and catering establishment to cinema. Doors with a high soundproof value were fitted to prevent any noise nuisance between the different halls. The soundproof doors are also fire resistant, to prevent a fire that breaks out in one hall from spreading to another.
Contractor completely relieved of any concerns
Construction consortium Strukton / De Nijs selected Alara-Lukagro to supply the steel doors:
- Twenty-six doors supplied in eight different versions
- Steel doors with a high soundproofing value of 54 dB(A)
- The doors are 30 or 60 minutes fire resistant
- Transformer doors were also supplied for the parking garage
- Consequently relieving contractor Strukton / De Nijs of any concern whatsoever
Nominated for BNA Building of the Year 2016
Yesterday, the jury, presided by Hanneke Groenteman, nominated eight buildings, including De Hallen Amsterdam. All the buildings have the chance of being selected as the ‘Best Building of the Year 2016’. Last year the honour went to Rotterdam Central by Team CS. “This year, every single one of the buildings nominated is unique and very diverse in its function,” stated jury chairwoman Hanneke Groenteman.
Award
De Hallen in Amsterdam won the WPM Groep/Vastgoedmarkt StiB Award 2015. This was announced in Rotterdam on 28 September 2015. After the jury visited the five nominees ‘it soon became apparent that it was an extremely close race between two potential winners, the Markthal in Rotterdam and De Hallen in Amsterdam’, revealed the jury’s report.
