Large double door for C-mine in Genk.
C-mine is located in Genk, Belgium. The name refers to its mining past. A major entertainment area has been developed around this industrial heritage, which includes a large cinema, catering establishments and diverse institutions and design activities.
Large acoustic doors
Today, the shaft towers in the photograph constitute a central landmark in this entertainment area. A large, attractive acoustic door was installed at the rear of the property.
The door’s properties
The project consisted of a louvre, for ventilation air, an access door as a wicket door and two compensating panels, above the louvre and the door, which were afforded a highly precise appearance to give the impression of an ‘overlay’ just like the adjacent large doors. The large double-leaf acoustic door is anchored to the inside of the wall and the ceiling, which is not visible from the outside.
This was a fully customised project in accordance with the architect’s requirements.
