Dust and jet proof enclosures for control cabinets
Alara-Lukago designed and produced enclosures for control cabinets of two cement unloaders for Van Aalst Bulkhandling of large cement storage terminals of Holcim.
Holcim is a leading supplier of cement in New-Zealand and recently it has built two large cement storage terminals. Van Aalst Bulkhandling is a specialist in bulk handling systems of dry products such as cement. It supplies “state of the art” cement unloaders for the new terminals of Holcim. With this ship unloading facility the cement is unloaded through a pneumatic pump arm and transported to the storage terminals.
IP65
The cement unloaders have several control cabinets on the platforms. These electronical components have to be protected against for example rain and moisture. Van Aalst Bulkhandling approached Alara-Lukagro for the engineering and production of enclosures for these control cabinets, in order to protect the machinery according IP65. This IP-code (International Protection Rating) is a term for the degree of protection of the construction of electronical components. The IP65 stands for dustproof and jet proof.
Alara-Lukagro designed and produced the enclosures for the control cabinets according to the requirements. The engineers of Alara-Lukagro calculated the enclosures on a strength so that these are resistant to wind speed of 45 m/s and horizontal/vertical acceleration. The enclosure is delivered complete, including access doors and ventilation components consisting of air supply and extraction sets with louvres, ventilator, dust filter and filter housing.
The enclosures are executed as drop-over. Hereby, the enclosure can easily be put over the control cabinets, after which the enclosures are assembled to the platform.
