Green sound screens A16–N3 near Dordrecht
The municipality of Dordrecht is realising a residential area (Amstelwijck) with approximately 800 homes. In the vicinity of this residential area are both the motorways A16 and N3 as well as the railway. In order to comply with the Noise Nuisance Law, measures such as sound screens are an absolute necessity.
The screens with a height of 10 (A16) and 4 (N3) metres are fully provided with planting and green wall decoration. An innovative feature is the clever use of an irrigation system at the top of the screens that collects rainwater for use in dry periods.
Screen doors
The doors are applied in different places in the sound screen. The Rw,p value of the screen doors (sound insulation value of the door frame combination in practice) is approximately 25-27 dB. The service door is equipped with a ventilation louvre.
The doors will be treated with a wet paint coating in the color RAL 6012 (black-green). In addition to producing the doors for this project, Alara-Lukagro also provides the engineering for these doors and the conservation, delivery and assembly of the louvres.
