Acoustic enclosures for the Martens en Van Oord sand factory

The sand factory is part of Martens en Van Oord’s bulk and construction materials terminal. The aggregates classification plant processes sand and gravel to produce a high quality raw material for the concrete industry, among others. Acoustic enclosures were designed for the sand factory to reduce noise and ensure compliance with environmental requirements.

Acoustic enclosures for the sand factory

The acoustic enclosure for the sieve building was constructed 14 metres above ground level. The gravel building’s enclosure is at least 50 metres long, 12 metres wide and 18 metres high. The sand building’s enclosure is 26 metres wide, 8 metres long and 6 metres high.

The enclosures are fitted with soundproof access doors, ventilation louvres and the necessary feed-throughs.

There was close collaboration between the project manager at Martens en Van Oord and the suppliers of the diverse installations during both the engineering and implementation phases. The result is a great success; the client is currently using the installation and is totally satisfied.
