Acoustic enclosure to soundproof pump set
The pump set at a gas treatment unit was producing too much noise. Alara-Lukagro produced a customised acoustic enclosure to soundproof the pump set.
Pumps exceed noise level
The gas treatment unit uses two pumps. They were exceeding the maximum permitted noise level. To ensure compliance with the established noise requirements Frames approached Alara-Lukagro, which subsequently designed, produced and installed two acoustic enclosures for the pumps.
Sound attenuation for pump set in the form of an enclosure
Enclosure results in sound attenuated pump set
The acoustic enclosures were designed in a 3D model as a self-supporting system, comprising modular panels screwed together. This offers the advantage of quick dismantling in the event of major maintenance or repair work.
Since the engine requires fresh air, the enclosure was fitted with a sound attenuated ventilation system. This was achieved by using the pump’s electric engine as an air supply ventilator. This meant that no additional ventilators were required.
The enclosure was transported to Germany in sections, where the complete enclosure was installed around the engine pump. The complete installation was subsequently transported to La Rioja region in Spain to be installed at the gas treatment site.
