Acoustic enclosure for Pon Power C9.3 IMO III genset
Together with Pon Power, Alara-Lukagro has developed a compact acoustic enclosure for the new C9.3 IMO III generator set. The result: a reduction of up to 30dB.

In 2017, Pon Power introduced the unique C9.3 IMO III generator set; the first Cat generator set that met the new, stricter IMO III emission requirements. The first C9.3 IMO III generator sets have been installed in the ship and after a successful trial run, is now entered into service.
Substantial noise reduction
Certainly in yacht building, sound is a major challenge. As a yacht owner, you want to be able to enjoy in silence. Therefore Alara-Lukagro has, in collaboration with Pon Power, developed an enclosure for the C9.3 IMO III generator set. The enclosure that Alara-Lukagro has developed for the C9.3 IMO III generator set can reduce noise up to 30dB. That is the difference between the sound of a washing machine or dryer and a library. A unique achievement, because it has never before been possible to realize such a noise reduction in such a compact unit. Sufficient internal ventilation cooling has also been achieved through smart placement of various components.
To make maintenance on the generator set possible, the housing is equipped with various removable hatches. In addition, the housing is equipped with ventilation supply and discharge for sufficient cooling. Depending on the wishes of the end user, the acoustic enclosure can be finished in any desired RAL color.
