Conserving nature and the environment

Commissioned by Rijkswaterstaat, A4all – a consortium comprising VolkerWessels, Heijmans and Boskalis – has completed the motorway. Many measures were taken to conserve the nature and the environment. The largest eco-aquaduct in Europe was built. A section of the motorway is also (partly) sunk into the landscape, the A4 enters a land tunnel between Schiedam and Vlaardingen, and all kinds of supplementary noise-reduction measures were taken.

Acoustic barrier escape doors

Alara-Lukagro had the opportunity to contribute to noise reduction by installing soundproof escape doors in the acoustic barriers along the road. A4all awarded the contract to supply and install the escape doors for the acoustic barriers to Alara-Lukagro. More information about this project is available here.
